Giving My Creation Life!
October 11th, 2015

Dr. FrankensteinAs some may know, I celebrate Halloween on this website every year. But, the trick-or-treat page is usually up for only 1 week. Well, today, I remedied that! The page is now up year-round, and you can download all of the “Young Frankenstein” treats from years past.

Halloween is celebrated for a full week (October 25-31, Pacific Time), and that’s when you’ll get the next treat. See you in a couple of weeks!

Falling Apart

Doorless Chambers LogoIt is my unfortunate displeasure to announce the second death of the Doorless Chambers website. Due to the lack of time and money on my part, and the lack of interest of the public, I am forced to close it once again.

Now, that’s not to say it’s spirit won’t live on. I’ll continue to design and release the Young Frankenstein Posable Figures every Halloween. And, the Disney Experience will continue to create annual treats.

Doorless Chambers will close in early August, 2015.

Portable Studio
July 13th, 2014

For my birthday, I bought myself an M-51 engineers field bag. At first, I was both overwhelm and undecided about what to put in it. After a few days, I discovered that I was adding more art supplies than anything else. So, I decided to turn it into an artist’s go bag for long trips where I typically wouldn’t be able to do much art.

For simplicity, I focused mainly on both drawing/sketching and watercolor painting. Simplicity. Yeah, right!

I started with the basic materials. Then, I started anticipating different scenarios; the bag got heavy. I had to do an audit to get the weight down and to make room for the essentials. Then, I could start adding in fluff. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Doorless Chambers

Doorless Chambers LogoThis year, I revived my old Doorless Chambers website with the intention of keeping it going this time. It should be much easier than prior years since I’ve found solutions to a lot of problems.

Doorless Chambers is an annual free online trick-or-treating event that runs from October 25-31. As a last-minute decision, I’ve decided to add Nava Designs to the roster, giving out a special Halloween treat. Come back to this blog during the mentioned dates to get started, or visit Doorless Chambers.

Paper Art: Pirate Ship Restauraunt—No. 01
February 20th, 2013

I started a video series on the Disney Experience, showcasing the entire design process of a new paper model. I thought some people might like to watch how I work.

Here is the first video, of which many others will follow. If you would like to continue watching the series, you can follow them either on the Disney Experience website or on YouTube.

Coca-Cola Polar Bears Papercraft

It took some savvy Internet sleuthing (thanks, Google!), but I was finally able to find that the Coca-Cola® polar bear papercrafts that I designed have been released to the public. The papercraft is part of Dollar General‘s 2012 Coca-Cola®-sponsored seasonal Web page. I was hired by the good folks at Triad Retail Media who were tasked with putting the entire Web page together.

San Salvador Paper Model

Look at what just sailed into the harbor! You can now download the free San Salvador paper model from the Maritime Museum of San Diego‘s website. There are two versions: mine (v2) and Roman Detyna’s (v1). Roman’s version is more physically detailed, while my own relies more on graphics.

The museum has also allowed me to offer the model for download on this site.
